The Rules of Engagement Have Shifted

We are all in crisis! It’s the end of days! Everything is in Dire Straits! Things are broken! We need help! - but wait, do we?
Looking back through history, evolution happens through change. The energies change, the rules change, cause-and-effect allows for new experiences, and then those dwelling here have a choice: change or leave this great life.
This isn’t a bad thing. It’s quite beautiful, even if it is a bit jarring while living it. The Earth has changed. The rules of engagement have shifted. As humans, we have become so set in the idea that we know best, that we forget to ask what is best for us and the planet in these new energies. We all seem to say "well, what we’ve been doing isn’t fixing the problem, so we just need to do more of it!" Push harder, give more!
But what if the answer is to quit fighting? Stop using violence to fight violence. Stop using hatred fueled by trauma to fight against the haters. Maybe we end the fighting through healing and compassion, and calling out the trauma that caused the oppressors to feel the need to oppress. Face ourselves. Look for ways the Earth is calling us to see it differently. Be it differently. Express change. Or maybe we're just being asked to grow?
What if actually dealing with our emotions is how we bring fresh water to the Earth and end this drought? Maybe that is how we get to light on water. What if making peace inside and being gentle with ourselves is how we lower the temperature of the planet, and say goodbye to this endless heat wave?
In my dreams, I am the first to arrive at this conclusion. But, it is not a dream, it is a nightmare. I know I cannot be the only one.
